I decided the best way to make POO handle is to fit the well proven setup of the Racing Escorts, the rear end therefore would be 5 linked with coil over vertical shock absorbers. I purchased an Escort 5 Link kit fro Peter Lloyd Rallying and went about modifying it to fit.
Initial measurements were taken, the bolt centre of the boxes are 30 Inches apart and roughly 22 inches away from the axle, the Escort links are 23 inches long so were are not far out. I will be taking accurate measurements as I go along and will print them here when I know they are correct. We later moved the boxes forward to solve a few issues and the rod length is now the same as that of an Escort.
Below is a gallery of the steps I took to fit the Escort 4 link kit to the Anglia:
( Not Finished as yet ! )

| The seat x-member is 90° to the car so I could use a square to mark the floor out accurately. | A Bendy
ruler was used to join up the two dots made with the square |
| The box was
placed in position to show its positioning. |
Another
line (the cut line) was made 10mm inside the outer line, this would allow a nice flange to be made. |
| Some holes
were drilled to enable easy access with the saw. |
| The hole
was cut out with a jigsaw and a grinder. |
The corners
were cut to allow the flange to be bent up. |
| I used a pair of big pliers to bend the flange gently up, then reshaped it with a flat body hammmer. | |
| Once again
the corners are slotted to allow the flange to be bent up. |
One all the flange was bent the body box could be put in place to access positioning. |

Once in the correct position it was obvious we would have to weld on some captive nuts and cut a bit from the seat x-member to allow for the link rod bolts. |
Pictures from underneath show how well the box fits when fitting with a flange. |

To get around the Captive nut issue and aid strength AND to enable the bars to run as per the Escort length it was decided to move the boxes forward in the car. |

The Late Anglia axle with both hubs on. (The late axle is required to fit the Quaife setup without any machining being required due to the deeper bearing housing.) |
