Brakes, now where do I start, well there are many systems available but in my experience the best brakes I have ever used are that of a Sierra Cosworth, The sierra is an extremely heavy car yet the brake system can make you stop in surprisingly short distances. At the heart of the Sierras (Most ABS Sierra and Granada's use a similar system) is a High Pressure pump and accumulator block that has a built in master cylinder, this unit pressurises the brake fluid into a small tank ready to send to the wheel cylinder on a press of the pedal. One big advantage is that being completely electronic the brake efficiency is not affected by engine failure.

Using the same Idea Ford had with the MK2 Escort the Master Cylinder was extended forward using a fabricated braket.
