Fitting My Duratec.

Here is the first instalment of the engine fitting process, Saturday 19th October.

The Gearbox with the old Sierra Bellhousing

The new Bellhousing

New Belhousing fits perfectly on the Type 9.

The Mondeo Clutch Release Bearing assembly fits the new Bellhousing

All bolted up with original Flywheel and Clutch.

Engine in place for trial fitment.

I have decided to move the engine back a wee bit

This will require some bulkhead surgery

Nice direct to head Throttle Bodies. I can almost hear them :)

Here is the Second Instalment 21st December

The Bulkhead gets cut out.

Engine in final Position.

Engine mounts are made and tacked into place.

Thats better more room to swing my spanners.

Near Side Engine Mount.

Off Side Engine Mount.

And From Underneath.

The dry sump system from pace will give me a bit more room.

Dry sump pump and oil adapter in place.

A bit more room on the X Member now :)

Another one of the pump.

A nice pic of the bottom of the car.

A new gearbox tunnel is fabricated

More of the bulkhead is removed and the cuts are now tidy.

UPDATE JULY 2003

The new bulkhead is fabricated and sealed up.
